Ivorian rapper Didi B is the big winner of the 8ᵉ edition of the Prix International des Musiques Urbaines et Coupé Décalé ( Primud 2023)

The 8th edition of Primud awarded 29 artists out of 547 nominees on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the Sofitel hôtel Ivoire.

In attendance, were Minister Toure Mamadou and Jean Marc Yace, Mayor of Cocody, .

The winners
Didi B won the prize ahead of Roseline Layo, ultimately his only challenger, and Ks Bloom, the previous edition's recipient.
The star was in the hall to celebrate his victory with "Team Paiya", to whom he dedicated the trophy, as well as to all Ivorian youth.

Alongside Didi B, Roseline Layo won two awards, including Hit of the Year with her track ''Môgôfariman'',  and Best Urban Variety.
Vitale won best Coupé-décalé prize. Rapper Oprah was voted best female rap artist, and the award for best producer went to Tam Sir whilst best choreographer went Roma Chiyaya.

This year, Prissi la degameuse won the best Comedian prize. Wi'djinzin, Best Ivory coast Rap Artist, Diba Diallo, Didi B's manager, Best Manager, and Best singer went to Morijah.

This year, each category also included a prize for the rising star won by Manaja confirmé as the best rising star of coupé-décalé.

Another big surprise was the performance by Yilim, who dazzled the audience with a live choreographed performance. Roseline Layo's improvisations also wowed the audience. On the downside, the fact that the stage was somewhat full of guests, at times impinged on the timing of the event, which ended at around 3 a.m.

A total of 29 people were honoured out of 547 nominees. Backstage, the theme was "African chic", adding an African touch to outfits. There were some innovative ideas, but with creativity, it can be hard not to go overboard.
